A room somewhere

Sunday, 15 April, 2007

Had I not gone on to study Creative Writing at university, architecture would have been my next choice. I love looking at houses! I probably wouldn't be very good at designing them but I love looking at them.

I've always wanted to live somewhere cool. This place we're in now is probably the coolest place we've ever lived in (with its three metre high windows, marble fireplaces and wooden floorboards). Mercedes Lackey apparently lives in a “2½-story concrete dome with an octagonal wooden shell over it to make it look more like a normal house ... it's round with curved outer walls, which makes placement of furniture kind of awkward” (source) and Neil Gaiman lives in a house that looks like something out of the Addams Family. Here are some other cool places to live:

Also see The Wharf Restaurant to understand why I'd like to live on a pier.

I can imagine a hotel or hostel made out of those hanging spheres, scattered through a forest.
