Ooh! ooh! I found my favourite ad ever on YouTube! It's my favourite ad ever because it's got everything: music by Joanna Newsom, Melbourne, yarn ... what more could you wish for ???
Where is that garden is with the circular colonnade around it? Does anyone know?

Hee. You’re so funny. It is a good ad though.
OH MY GOODNESS! I just got a comment from Guan—He-who-hardly-ever-comments-on-this-blog!!! ;P
I’m pretty sure the circular colonnade is all computer-generated, just to make Melbourne look more interesting than it is. Sydney has circular gardens too, y’know, with fountains in them that cops will chase you out of if you take your shoes off for a bit of a splash at nighttime. uh…
Either that, or it’s a particle accelerator in disguise. Or the melbourne equivalent of stonehenge. It might be a landing site for intergalactic donut delivery spacecraft.
It could be a prehistoric roulette wheel structure. Maybe it’s where Russell Crowe shot his colisseum scenes from Gladiator.
Okay, that’s enough dude. stop now.
Awww, don’t burst my bubble, Fish! I want to go there!!
I don’t recognize it. And I lived in Melbourne for 10 years! That’d be St Paul’s Cathedral in the background but.
Hmm, on closer inspection, not. No, I’m lost (in Melbourne).
Oh, and did you see the Chaser version of this ad? They pushed a ball of wool the same size through the streets of Melbourne, much to the irritation and bemusement of the regular citizens.
I have now!
I never got this ad. I thought that Melbourne seemed too upper class ‘chic’ to be interested in handcrafts so the yarn and the city didn’t seem to mesh in my mind.
You asked about the Moo cards - I have no idea what I’ll do with them. Often with swaps I end up with pretty things that sort of just sit on my desk for a little while then get put away!
It is empty dreams universally cosmic secret cloister. There nothing inside, no secret to be unveiled until harukas proportion fully aligned with dream.
I have a feeling it’s the sunken garden behind St Patrick’s Cathedral. The angle of the city is right.. and google maps seems to think so too…

Thanks Cameron! Good to know it’s a real place!
