Well after an awful lot of knitting, on the night of How Sweet the Sound, I ended up selling three things: this

this:

and this:

Not bad for an evening.
In retrospect, and given the market (i.e. predominantly Christians who most likely wouldn't spend $50 on a scarf/shawl unless it was a gift), I probably should have made a few things that I could have sold for $5 or $10—for example, these Perdita bracelets and these Knecklaces, these Nakiska headbands, or perhaps adapting the Venezia napkin rings which don't take very long to make at all. I could even have made more of these cuffs—

because lots of people liked them (why???).
I could have also made a few things for men. I forgot that I knit predominantly for women, which ruled out half of my market. There were a few guys who stopped by and asked if I had anything for males, and I didn't. But I could have knitted some Halfdome hats, Blue hills (not my kind of thing but some guys might dig it), Tychus and Swell. Scarves? Well, I don't think I'll be attempting the Henry scarf for a while, but perhaps I could have adapted the pattern and used bigger needles. There's also Exchequered (okay, maybe for a certain type of guy). Danica and Fair isle rapids still look a little too girly for me. (Anyway, how many men do you know who wear scarves???) Then there are gloves: Dashin is somewhat dashing, Cigar might have a very limited market, and there are always Knucks which are easy. Ooh, check this out! Felted slippers!
(Note to self: try Palette and Wisp one day.)
I've given the remainder of the things I made to Bec who is very kindly selling them for me in her Etsy shop, The Procraftinatrix (because I don't have time and can't be bothered!). So far, only three items are up, but there's more to come. She's taken some better, new and very lovely photos, so go on over and have a look!
