We had fish and chips by the beach today and walked around Wollongong Harbour. I've finally worked out how to use the timer on our digital camera. I took this picture as Ben happened to be walking by in the background.
It was sunny but cold with a very bracing southerly rushing through. A wedding party, thinking of taking photos near the harbour, changed their minds when they felt the chill. We accidentally interrupted a low-budget film shoot as we walked along—one car with a cameraman in the front seat, the other with a guy holding a gun out the window. Afterwards Ben showed me where he's been getting his cheap CDs and bought me a $15 copy of the soundtrack to Amadeus for Christmas along with a stack of singles. We had vague thoughts of replacing our microwave but everything was closing up, even though it was only 4 o'clock. Ah Wollongong ...

The beach looks a bit Stalinist with those blocks in the background!
Are you wearing a beret?
Yes, yes I am! I normally lose one of them every winter but this year I’ve managed to keep a hold of it.
Yes, yes, you are Stalin?
I don’t know if Stalin ever wore a beret.
Don’t be silly, Philip. Go watch Children of the Revolution.
Sooooo Sorry, it was a complete misunderstanding, trust me! I saw the “looks a bit Stalinist” then you said “Yes, yes I am!” and my mind ignored the beret as thats just so, you; anyway. Whats wrong with a little Stalinist anyway, ask any Russian if they liked the Bolsheviks…
