Dreaming the past into the present

Wednesday, 02 March, 2005

This week is the first week of real college. It's like when you started high school and the first day was just Year 7 and your Year 12 mentors who are being nice to you because they have to, and then, the following day/week, Years 8-11 and the rest of Year 12 returns and you're suddenly aware of how small a fish you are in how big a pond.

Monday I dreamt I was at Moore College but it resembled parts of my high school. Everyone was dressed in navy blue uniforms with white shirts, ties, white socks and shiny black shoes. We had Philip Kern for our first class and we were all the way up on the fourth floor in the corner in some dingy little classroom. When it was over, I met Steve coming out of his Hebrew class (wearing pants, a tie and a school blazer) and we chatted while walking down the stairs to morning tea. Unfortunately, by the time we got down there, morning tea was over and Viv, the senior student (which, in my mind, equated to being prefect), was urging me to hurry up and get back to class. She was dressed in a navy school blazer too and maybe she had a prefect badge ... oh yes, she was also wearing one of those hats that you see girls wearing at private schools—those round Charles Blackman schoolgirl-type things. She was trying to be helpful so she came with me to find my classroom because I had no idea how to get back there and we went scrambling up the stairs. I got awfully confused because the stairs went up most of the time but sometimes they went down and it was a bit like an Escher drawing or something out of The Labyrinth but finally we got there and I slid in the door just before Bill.

Hey! Your next heading should be ‘Tell Me Moore’! Ahahaha! I am so funny…

Steve was wearing pans? Interesting, if not a little noisy.

Yes, he the left the pots at home that day.
