Eleven of Twelve

Tuesday, 14 October, 2003

My favourite CDs: Grace (Jeff Buckley), Static and Silence (The Sundays), Gershwin's World (Herbie Hancock) and, finally, A Kernel of Wheat (Selah). These have stood the test of time and shown themselves not to be a passing phase. The frustrating thing is that there is very little information available about Selah. They're a 10-piece jazz band made up of a bunch of people who graduated from the Conservatorium of Music together and who just also happen to love Christ. If you want to see their CDs, you can head over to Spike Mason's site (click on Discography). They don't have a webpage and they don't often play together. But recently I discovered they launched their second CD: Eleven of Twelve. Mike Kenny says that, at the moment, only available from Birdland Records or you can order it straight from him. Looking forward to hearing it.

Hey I didn’t know you digged(dug?) Jeff Buckley. I’m not into him, but I think people who are, are very cool (I don’t know why…I just do!)

And The Sundays!! My favourite song is Summertime!! How beautiful is that? And my favourite HK singer, Faye Wong, covered one of their songs. Hey maybe I’ll bring it over when I see you this month. Remind me ok!
