Exposing Beauty

Monday, 29 March, 2004

In case you have been wondering where I've dashed off to (though I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't wondering; I seem to be doing the disappearing act more and more frequently as Real Life gets busy and Virtual Reality gets shunted to one side), I'm busy trying to write a 20-minute talk on “Exposing Beauty” for a girls' afternoon tea this Thursday. Today is Monday which means I have under three days to get the thing done. So far I'm not going very well; I've got my five points but no introduction and, since the introduction sets the shape for everything else, I'm tearing my hair out over the whole thing. Really, I think I'm just in the throes of writers' block; this happens every time I have to write an article too and it usually doesn't come together until the very very last minute. Not that I should be waiting until the last minute but I feel like I need to trust God to help me bring it all together. This evening I bashed my head against a brick wall until I had hammered out some sort of potted introduction. I suppose it's a start. I should really go to bed now and sleep on it. If you could pray for me, my listeners and the people organising the event, we'd all really appreciate it. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the talk is evangelistic.
