Even more knitting goodness
There is only so many times you can knit Véronik Avery's lace ribbon pattern in a shawl before you start to get really bored. It's an easy pattern—it has 24 rows but the odd numbered rows on rows 1-9 are the same, as are the odd numbered rows on rows 13-21, 11 and 23 are the same, and all the even numbered rows are the same too. Much as I love the pattern, I need something else to keep my brain happy.
So I took the rest of the Anny Blatt burgundy yarn from Amelia's shawl and modified the Luna Flickering Flames circular skirt by Elann so that it would work with a flat pattern (i.e. the even rows were all purled, not knitted). I've always admired that skirt, and one day I'd like to knit it for Ros, but I've always said I need to get better a blocking first—particularly blocking in circles (which I've done. I'm not sure if I've got enough floorspace to do it ... maybe after we move somewhere with more carpet ...)
Anyway, it's funny—as I was knitting, I had no idea how the pattern would turn out. It kind of looked like one big mess of stocking stitch with a few bunches every now and then. But once I blocked it, the pattern became much much clearer:

I had intended to give this to my mother for Christmas, completely forgetting that she's allergic to wool. Bother.
