While we're on the subject of craft bragging, here's something else I made recently. The cover paper came from the last Finders Keepers market. From memory, it came from Publisher Textiles. It's actually wallpaper, which makes it lovely and thick. (Hope there's no rule against using wallpaper for bookbinding!)
Anyway, as these things do, it reminded me of Neil Gaiman—well, more specifically, the design work on the paperbacks that have been released in Australia for books like American Gods, Anansi Boys, Neverwhere and Smoke and Mirrors. The design work on those was done by gray318 (who has also done a whole raft of other book cover designs).
The endpapers came from a craft shop in Newtown whose name eludes me at present. I thought red would make a nice contrast. I made 10 signatures of four sheets of 100 gsm paper each, and, as usual, the binding thread was black linen from Amazing Paper done in a nine-stitch coptic bind (boring, I know; I wasn't feeling particularly innovative and I was in a hurry). Here's how it tuned out:

Actually Karen, you might find you do “know” me! =) I was at uni with you in ECU (Mim Moir). Studied primary education, hung out with Bec Graham and Erin Macarther (we were the loud ones!) =)
@Miriam: Ah yes, I do know you! Thanks for jogging my memory!
