Well, Ben came home from hospital after a two-night stay, and Hans, Cathy and Lizz came over to help him up the stairs when he came home. He's doing okay—he's very sore and very occasionally leaking a bit of blood but apart from that, he's able to walk around, take showers, play on the computer, watch lots of movies and, more recently, dress himself.
Unfortunately I am back at work where it's total mayhem with The Faithful Writer conference coming up this Saturday (processing registrations, trying to replace a panellist, printing booklets, sending emails, making phone calls, organising the bookstall, writing endless To Do lists) and the September Briefing just around the corner. I'd much rather be nerdily entering my library into LibraryThing (you can view the results so far but you'll notice there's an awful lot of picture books and Sandman because I've only done two shelves' worth) and installing widgets on my blog (ooh! ooh! You can search my library! No longer will anyone live in fear of whether they've bought me a book I already own ... [yes, that's right; getting a LibraryThing subscription was really a sneaky ploy to get people to give me more books! Mwahahahah!!!]) Even more nerdy is the fact I've been tagging them as I go (though I don't think I'm being very consistent).
And no, I haven't bought Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows yet; I know I won't be able to resist reading it (though the prize for Potter nerdom has to go to Roger who bought it that morning and finished it 11 hours later and then started a Facebook group called “I've FINISHED Harry Potter and I need to talk ...”). I'd only get distracted before Saturday. When all the madness is over, I'll treat myself as a reward ...

Poor Ben…
Hey Karen, I had no idea until I read your blog tonight that Ben was so sick. I’ll keep you both in my prayers.

Hey - this is wierd, because I was looking at your blog last week and the latest entry was always blinks. That is why I was ignorant of all this when I arrived!
Hope Ben continues to improve and you take the time to enjoy Harry Potter!
