Here are the topics and some suggestions for articles for our next two issues. The submission deadline for Issue 07 will be the 15th of March; for Issue 08, the 15th of April. If you want to have a go at writing for us (go on!), have a look at our submission guidelines as well.
Issue 07: Who is God?
- What is he like? (His character). Attributes of God: (Pick one to write about. Some might have to be written about at the same time as others. They don't necessarily have to be from this list; I'm sure you can think up more):
- creator
- redeemer
- initiator
- unchanging
- omnipotent
- omniscient
- omnipresent
- faithful
- jealous
- slow to anger
- abounding in love
- merciful
- judge
- avenger
- without sin/unable to abide sin
- sovereign
- father

- God in Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit
- Is it possible to prove that God exists?

Issue 08: Tradition
- Tradition as authority
- Place/inevitability of tradition in the Christian church and Christian life
- Church compared to OT temple
- Sacraments: Baptism, Lord's supper and the Eucharist, Confirmation
- External trappings: robes, choirs, incense, prayer book, hymns/choruses
- Creeds and confessions and their place
- Current service models: corporate prayer, Bible reading, sermon, offertory, sung worship, creed, confession, announcements, etc. Why do we do these things as a congregation and should we keep doing them?
- Paul's instructions to Timothy (2 Tim 2:2)
- Learning by example
- Church hierarchy: elders, deacons, wardens, bishops: Do we need them? What do they do?
- Different denominations: What's the difference and does it matter? Lutheran, Uniting, Methodist, Presbyterian, Anglican, Catholic, Baptist, Congregational, Pentecostal
- The ordination of women
- Why go to church at all?
