I've been taking a break from blogging (and emailing, for that matter; believe it or not I actually started answering some of those in the pile-up from three months ago but they still haven't been sent, so if you're one of those people, look forward to a reply soon). Like I said, I've been taking a break from blogging and emailing in order to cope with the demands of real life and also go easy on myself. Certain individuals who have read my blog have stressed the importance of rest and I am finally heeding their advice. So on Saturday morning Ben and I went down to Northbeach, had breakfast at Jonni's and walked along the shoreline right up to Fairy Meadow (and got sunburnt in the process). It was lovely and I think it combatted some of the anxiety I've been feeling.
Friends have told me that perhaps the reason why I have been feeling anxious is because I fear that this year will be like last year which was awfully hard. I think that is partly true. I think it also to do with my own expectations of myself and my confidence (or lack thereof) in what I feel I can do. On paper, this year doesn't look too bad but in my head it seems all blown out of proportion. Because I seem incapable of discerning what is too much and what is not enough, I leave it to you to decide whether this is impossible:
A way of funding writing in the future: pitch and idea and get people to support it.
Place where you can hire play equipment for parties, etc.
How to recalibrate the home button on your iPhone.
Unsolicited manuscripts accepted by Pan Macmillan with certain conditions.
Thought Balloon is a group blog in which the writers tackle a new theme every week? month? with one-page scripts. This URL is for their Phonogram ones.

It can be helpful to keep a diary of where you spend your time.
That’s only helpful once you’re in the middle of a routine and currently I am not.
Sounds like a lot. Be careful girl - schedule rest time (really!!)
Yes I’m suggesting when your in your routine- which is what you are talking about, your planned future routine.
Keeping a diary can help you identify where you actually spend time rather than where you think you spend time. This is useful as a basic time management tool as you can realise how much time you didn’t spend relaxing and then adapt your schedule.
Well, duh.
My basic point is that often people spend a lot of time doing things that they didn’t plan spending time upon, that’s why keeping a diary of what you spent time on is useful.
I understand you don’t appreciate my point.
How do you know I didn’t appreciate your point? Don’t jump to conclusions like that. I understood your point perfectly well.
“Well, duh.” sounds condescending to me, I don’t know what other people think.
Having an “emotional response”, are we? ;P
No, but how can I respect the opinion of someone who dismisses my point with “Well, duh.” when I’m attempting to assist them with a suggestion. There is a clear difference between the words appreciate and understand, while you understand my point you don’t appear to appriciate it when you make a statement like that.
“Having an ‘emotional response’, are we? ;P” takes a clearly teasing form. If your trying to be more like Christ, then why would you adopt statements which mock others.
I’m sorry that you took my “duh” the wrong way; I said that because I thought it was perfectly obvious, the value of what you were suggesting, even though it was in response to a blog post that was more about anxiety and being wise about overloading than about time management.
That’s the big problem with email - it’s hard to get across “tone of voice”
Ouch!
