
This photo was taken in Hong Kong when I was about three when I was still a single child. That was probably my first overseas trip. The monkey's name is Moishishi (sp?) and, since I have this memory that he really belonged to my brother, I must have made a present of him when my brother was born. Moishishi was named after a teacher at my school who told great stories. His face, ears, hands and feet are all made out of plastic and you can make him suck his thumb/toe. When we immigrated to Australia, Moishishi got lost on the plane and we never found him again.

I think the monkey is coming back into fashion—I saw little keyrings of him at Kinokuniya. Can’t remember what he’s actually called though ...
