Long stocking cap in what Steve informs me is Manly colours. Ben has taken a shine to it so I ought to dare him to wear it around college:

I think my next project will be having a go at making a cover for my journal. I've given up on my fancy habits of buying very nice blank hardcover journals with gorgeous covers and have been purchasing those A5 Quill spiral-bound things that only cost $2.50 in the Uni shop. Unfortunately they're too big for the Oberon green leather journal cover with embossed Celtic design I bought in California seven years ago.

I’m impressed. I get over knitting very quickly - infinitely prefer crochet, but the result usually looks tackier.
If you’re interested in one of my books, I’m prepared to negotiate a deal (one of my new year’s resolutions is to use more bookmarks)
P.S. Are you still going to Continuum?
Wow, I’m so interested in one of your books, Kathleen!! What’s something nice I could make you in exchange? One bookmark will not suffice!
I’m definitely still planning on going to Continuum—I think I should email/call them about my membership ... still haven’t heard anything.
Actually, I take that back—they must have received it because the debit is showing up on my credit card. YAY!!! I’M GOING!!!!
Yay! Mine came through today too.
Do you have any accomodation plans? I haven’t decided yet, although it would be *very* nice to stay at the hotel. Might have to go somewhere cheaper.
(Two bookmarks?)
Two bookmarks for one of your books?? That’s highway robbery!! Let me make you half a dozen at least. What sizes do you want? Same kind of thing?
No idea where we’re going to stay (Ben is also coming along for the road trip, not the convention; he’s really taken a shine to Melbourne ever since his sojourn there last year). That hotel looks awfully expensive (though I agree with you about the nice-ness!) Do you know any good places in Melbourne? Perhaps we should consult some Melbourne bloggers?
Latter sounds like a good idea - I’ve never been to Melbourne.
Okay, how about 4 bookmarks, any size/shape/colour/technique you prefer. Let me know what size book and what colours/papers/fabrics you want.
You got yourself a deal!
