A knitting post now. (Though I feel like it's been a lifetime since I picked up my needles, and not because it's been so hot ... first I had to figure out where they were ...)
I decided to make another leaves and waves shawl for my friend Liwen's birthday. (She doesn't read this blog either. I think.) Once again, I used Anny Blatt 50% mohair, 50% wool—this time in light pink. Unfortunately even though I was prompt about finishing it on time, I was not so prompt about blocking it. I put it down to new house-ishness: I had to clear enough space in an out-of-the-way area so I could lay down my piece of purple foam and pin it to our newly-laid carpet (felt a bit weird about that! Strange what a difference it makes when things are yours). In this hot weather, it dried pretty fast.
Then there was the other problem of finding enough blank wall to stand in front of in order to photograph it. I don't own a tripod, but here the bookshelves came in handy ...

I do like this pattern. Nice clasp. Is it a hair slide?
Yes, it’s a hair thing ... is that what you call them? I never knew. They don’t normally stay in my hair on their own; I usually need a hair tie. I should get a few more because they’re good for shawls, or find something like them which is good for shawls ...
