Karen at work

Elsie took this picture of me because she was so impressed with my wall. She should have seen my room at International House—or my house in Wollongong. I hated blank walls so I covered them with movie posters and postcards, pictures that I thought were nice. It was an exercise in geometry more than anything else. (I did have a flatmate who was more interested in grouping things by colour.)

Ben isn't really into the wallpaper thing though so I haven't done it much to our walls since we've been married. Plus we move far too often.

I used to stick calendar pictures on my walls at home—pictures of scenery. I used Blue Tack coz if you use double-sided tape, sometimes the paint on the walls peels off together with the tape. But Blue Tack’s stickiness doesn’t last, and when things keep falling off, it’s very annoying. Now I only have two pictures on my walls—one is a painting by my best friend (she painted a flower which she felt represented me; it looks a bit like a morning glory) and another is a laminated printout of the hymn “O Jesus I Have Promised”. (Lyrics here: http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/o/j/ojihprom.htm)

So Blutac is no good either? I use U-tac - thought it might be a U-tac problem with things falling off walls…maybe its a general x-tac problem…
