Phone farewell

Friday, 10 February, 2006

Now that Orange has morphed into 3, we've upgraded our phones to these little babies (though I don't understand why anyone would ever want to video phone ... But then I am not a phone person—I confess I absolutely loathe talking on the phone—and if you've ever wondered why I never call you, that's why—and if you're wondering why I even have a phone at all, it's so people can call me and so I can send people text messages. Go the written word!)

After only having 5 hours of sleep because I stayed up until 4 am and worked on a design for the C.S. Lewis conference (5 hours), and after being at work for 3.5 hours, getting oriented by Greg at CASE, then realising that I couldn't work on the website because of New College's firewall, I caught public transport home, ran into Julia and the kids at the shops, and spent most of the afternoon doing data entry to transfer my existing phone book into my new mobile. The nice thing about the new mobile is that you can type everything into a program on your computer and then upload it to your phone. So that's what I did with all 200 or so entries (this was after weeding out the people who I know have changed their name/moved/changed their number/I'm highly unlikely to see them again/I can't remember who they are and why I have their number in the first place).

There are, however, some messages I want to keep and I thought I would store them here for posterity before I switch off my old Samsung for the last time. If one of them is from you, I am hoping you will feel rather special than creeped out.

Mine is 7.5! I think it's genetic. U need to exercise more.
