Sick and Issue-less

Monday, 05 May, 2003

At home with cold/fluey thing which has rendered my head stuffed full of gunk, turned my nose into a perpetual tap, emptied my tissue box, filled up my bin and scraped my throat rawer than an asbestos ceiling. It seemed to hit me out of the blue; I was fine while teaching the K-2's in High Five's the story of Hagar and Ishmael and Sarah and Isaac but later in the evening I could feel the soreness welling up at the back of my throat. I spent most of today a) sleeping, b) reading Last Human by Doug Naylor, c) watching Charlie's Angels on DVD, and d) studiously avoiding writing my last two articles for Issue 07. If awards are given out for procrastination, I hope I get one. I spent the whole of yesterday preparing my Sunday School lesson and making envelopes with origami instead of writing. I spent Saturday doing the laundry, reading Backwards by Rob Grant and singing at a wedding instead of writing. I'm sure you're all getting terribly impatient with me but I promise it's coming.
