Took public transport into work today because Ben needed the car. Spent the first half of the morning reading and logging Briefing submissions, compiling the shape of #341 (February 2007)—all of which is subject to change, of course—gave to Tony and then spent the rest of the day overhauling the online disaster that is www.matthiasmedia.com.au with great gusto. Even got the whole thing working more or less coherently in testing mode by 4 pm when I went and knocked on the boss's door to find out when on earth we were meeting (he said “this afternoon”!). Discovered #341 is not going to fly as easily as I thought it would (*sigh!*). Presented mock-up trying not to look smug. Was given design changes instead (but was given the basic go-ahead). Went over to boss #2's office to get his approval. Was met with great hesitation but eventually got the go-ahead. Felt somewhat deflated by the time I got back to my desk. Discovered my phone battery was flat. Called Ben on the landline. Discovered he was at the petrol station next door but the door to the tank wouldn't open. Went down to meet him. Called the NRMA who said, “Let me just check that we actually do that.” Wondered why I was paying for membership if they didn't actually do that. Sat in the car for an hour and waited. Took the NRMA man 10 minutes to fix the problem. Filled up and went home. Tried to make a new recipe for dinner. Potatoes very undercooked. Feel like giving up. Going to bed now.

Sounds like you’re tired and need a good sleep
*hugs*
hope you feel better soon!
Sounds like one of those days where everything just feels a little bit “off” and so the whole day feels like you want to “give up” on it. When I look at the post I see lots of good things though - how exciting to work in such detail on a briefing! What a gift to be able to overall MM website! Got the go-ahead (if somewhat eventually)! How funny that the NRMA man said that - doesn’t he know he’s supposed to HELP? And well done on trying a new recipe, even if the potatoes were undercooked.
Hope this helps.
Love George
My mother said of carrots, “we eat them raw and we eat them cooked, so I don’t see why we can’t eat them in between.”
I’m not sure that holds true of potato, however.
potatoes are high is potassium, which is really good for you. God gave potatoes to not make us sick if they are undercooked, ( unlike chicken ) praise God!!
Well done for coping with a irritating day. I had a rotten day yesterday and I’m still recovering by listening to “Fix You” by Coldplay and feeling sorry for myself.
Makes me feel better ‘cos God WILL fix everything!
You guys are the best. I feel like you’re my personal cheerleading squad!
Ooooh!! Can we make them cheerleading outfits and matching pom-poms??
