USB-angst

Tuesday, 12 October, 2004

Today Sarah gave me and Ben sushi for lunch, complete with a dab of wasabi and a small sachet of soya sauce. I left my USB thumb drive at work but didn't realise until we got home so I had to drive all the way back and then, because it was 6 pm, I couldn't get into the office. I remembered there was a top door but I didn't have the code to get in. Then I remembered that I had stored the code in my email box. Thank God for Mirapoint which enables me to store all my mail online! I went and bothered an employee of CEDIR and she graciously let me use her computer. Code in hand, I tried the door once again. And it didn't work!! I went back to the lady and she suggested I call Security. They came along shortly and chaperoned me to my desk where I was then able to retrieve the USB thumb drive, go home and hurriedly make dinner. I needed it badly because all my Sunday school Cash Values material was on it and I had been doing it at work that afternoon because there was nothing else at work to do and I was having a Sunday school leaders' meeting that evening at my place. Otherwise I would have blithely left the silly thing and retrieved it in the morning. But God was gracious and everything worked out okay. (“And they all lived happily ever after ...”)
